Mindset
Basketball requires a lot of patience and discipline. When you're in the game, your energy wants to shoot through the roof. It's important to be active and loud, but at the same time you need to stay focused and relaxed. Sometimes there's such a thing as too much energy, and it can affect you and your team in a big way. When you're trying to run 100 mph, you tend to make some costly mistakes. If you can figure out the pace of the other team and just play a little bit above that, you should be successful in the game.
It's also important to keep your cool. Technical fouls are something nobody on the team appreciates... unless it's your coach that gets it. In that case, he probably has a good reason for picking up the T, and some coaches will do that intentionally to get the team more fired up. Most of the time it works, and the team begins to play a bit more aggressive and with a little more heart. There's just something about your coach sticking up for your team that gets the players going.
cool, I mean I'm not passionate about basketball, but I can sort of connect with your mindset on this.
